Universal Analytics (UA) was first introduced in 2012 and became the standard for data collection and organization. However, it has recently been updated to Google Analytics 4.

We recently contributed an article to The Aesthetic Society’s Spring 2023 newsletter discussing Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and how it can benefit your practice.

Read our full article in the Spring 2023 issue from The Aesthetic Society (page 83).

The Vast Benefits of Google Analytics 4

  • Increased focus on data privacy
  • Increased ability to track data across devices (phone, tablet, laptop) as long as the device is logged into the user’s Google account
  • Increased ability to track data across apps (using both website and app data)
  • Uses “events” to create a comprehensive, well-rounded user journey rather than session-based data
  • More control and better customization for the business (your dashboard is entirely customizable to your business’s needs)
  • Predictive metrics

When Do You Need to Switch to GA4?

As of July 1, 2023, Universal Analytics will stop reporting new hits and collecting new data. You will be able to view your existing data through the end of 2023.
