Remembering Michael J. Powers
CEO of Plastic Surgery Studios, 1999–2025
Michael Powers, our beloved CEO, passed away on August 13, 2025. For more than 26 years, he guided Plastic Surgery Studios with vision, adaptability, and a spirit of optimism. His leadership helped shape not only the direction of our company but also the culture of support and respect that continues today.

His Journey
Before anyone else joined the company, Michael and his brother Greg Powers spent more than a year developing the concept for what would become Plastic Surgery Studios. Working late nights—often past midnight—and through weekends, they set up the first two servers and laid the groundwork for the company’s future. Greg, who worked at USC Hospital at the time, brought his technical expertise after hours to configure the initial systems. He often said this was the most creative and fulfilling time he and Michael ever spent together, turning an idea into reality.
In 1999, their hard work led to the launch of MedAvenue.com, a directory created for all medical specialties. By 2001, they shifted focus to elective healthcare with the launch of iEnhance.com, one of the first plastic surgery directories of its kind. Later, they oversaw the creation of PlasticSurgery.com, which became the industry-leading flagship directory for Plastic Surgery Studios and set a standard in connecting patients with physicians nationwide.
When search engines transitioned to local-focused algorithms in the early 2010s and directories lost visibility, Michael’s resilience and foresight led the company into a new era—custom website development and digital marketing for plastic surgeons and elective healthcare providers. His ability to navigate challenges and embrace change ensured that Plastic Surgery Studios continued to grow and thrive.

His Legacy
Michael will always be remembered for his positive energy, infectious laugh, and genuine love of people. He built strong connections with colleagues, clients, and friends, always making time to share joy and encouragement.
Beyond the office, Michael loved adventure and time with family. His favorite places included Lake Powell, Lake Havasu, and Maui, Hawaii. On weekends, he could often be found boating, floating in a cove, or skiing down snowy slopes. He was also a professional pilot who found freedom and excitement in the skies.

His Family
Plastic Surgery Studios has always been a family business. Michael shared leadership alongside his wife, Anna, and his nephew, David. He is survived by Anna and their two sons, Joseph and Jacob. His devotion to family—both at home and at work—was central to everything he did.

Carrying His Legacy Forward
Michael will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue through the culture, people, and vision of Plastic Surgery Studios. His laughter, leadership, and love for life will remain an inspiration to all of us.
